The Petroleum Training and Education Fund (PETROFUND), established by the Government of Namibia in 1992, serves as the nation’s primary vehicle for building capacity in the upstream petroleum sector. The Fund advances national skills development through scholarships, internships, on-the-job training, and support for research and innovation.
PETROFUND also strengthens local training institutions, supports supply chain development and raises awareness of career pathways within the petroleum value chain. Looking ahead, the Fund remains committed to aligning its initiatives with emerging industry needs, deepening partnerships and ensuring that Namibians can fully participate in the country’s evolving petroleum landscape.
PetroConnect, initially launched in 2023 as a manual CV repository, has evolved into a modern digital platform. It functions as a secure talent database for PETROFUND-supported students, graduates and trainees.
This platform helps oil and gas companies easily identify qualified Namibian professionals, thereby supporting the country’s local content agenda and reducing critical talent gaps.
All Namibians interested in the oil and gas sector are encouraged to register free of charge. Employers are invited to subscribe and post opportunities, ensuring sustainability of the platform.
