    Mulemi Stresses Local Content Participation

PETROFUND CEO, Nillian Mulemi said meaningful local participation in Namibia’s emerging oil and gas industry begins with deliberate preparation. She emphasised the need for stakeholders to work collectively in creating enabling pathways that equip young Namibians with the skills, knowledge and opportunities required to participate in the upstream petroleum sector.

Mulemi made these remarks this recently during a public lecture series on Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) technology and its applications held in Windhoek at the Namibia University of Science and Technology - NUST.

The lecture series was hosted by NUST’s Namibia Energy Institute (NEI) in partnership with PETROFUND and Yinson Production. The initiative aimed to educate the Namibian public on FPSO technology and explore its role in supporting the development of Namibia’s offshore oil and gas industry.

The session was facilitated by Hendrik Baardson, who shared insights into FPSO operations and their significance in offshore petroleum production.

Over 100 students and young oil and gas enthusiasts attended the series.
